Homemade Hair Masks

hair

I thought it might be a good idea to give you some home-made recipe hair masks i found in a beauty book of mine. Using ingredients from the kitchen cupboards and they look simple enough to make.

Its really important to take care of your hair, especially with all this weather change and if you are planning a trip abroad, because climate change
 doesn't help your locks.

With so many products on the shelves now days, its easy to spend
a bomb on them and still not find the right one.
Remember when buying to buy for hair type.

I haven't got round to trying them yet, but i thought i'd post them. I will try them and i will update you on how i get on. In the meantime i'll be intrested to hear how you get on with them, just leave a comment.
Ive got some face mask recipes i'll post aswell, you'll probably find them on the beauty page.

Everyone is always going on about natural is good, so i dont think you can get more natural than this and fresh too. I suppose they would probably make nice gifts too, but its best to check the sell by dates on the products first.

Processed/Colour Treated Hair
A rich mask that will restore essential nutrients to processed hair you should use a treatment based on dairy products.
mix the following ingredients:
1 egg
1oz Cream Cheese
1oz Cream
1oz Butter
1oz Water
1/4 Grapefruit
Apply the mixture to your hair and leave for at least 5 minutes.
Rinse off in tepid water.

Curly Hair
A rich, moisturising mask that will add a gloss and a sheen to curly hair.
Combine the following ingredients:
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
10 drops of Lavender essential oil
Place the olive oil in a small saucepan and warm it gently (the oil should not be hot, only heated). Remove from the heat and add the lavender oil. Once you have double checked the temperature, apply the mixture to your hair. Wrap it in a towel to maximise oil penetration and relax for 20 mins. Wash out the oil with a gentle shampoo (you may need to repeat 2 or 3 times) and condition well.

Wavey Hair
That slight kink in wavey hair can be enough to reduce the gloss on your hair. Intense moisturising will help. For a shine boosting that will help your hair recover its natural sheen, use this fruit based mask.
Mash together the following ingredients in a large bowl:
1/2 ripe Banana
1/2 Avacado
1 heaped tsp plain yoghurt
1 tbsp Olive Oil
Apply the mixture to the hair, focusing on the ends and up to where the waves begin (which is where you want the shine) but won't weigh down the roots. Wrap your hair in a towel and relax for 20mins before rinsing.

Straight Hair
Help cut oil production in your hair with this oil reducing astringent hair rinse.
Use the following ingredients:
1 Large Jug of Peppermint Tea (use 2 bags)
Tea tree oil
Make up the peppermint tea and leave to cool.
Add 10 drops of tea tree oil.
Pour over the head as a final rinse.
